Gwadar tour packages from Karachi typically cost about PKR 16,500 to 25,000 per person for a trip of two to three days, and they include coach transport, a hotel room, some meals and a tour manager. Most leave Karachi on a Friday night, reach Gwadar on Saturday morning and are back on Sunday night. Prices depend on whether you share a room with three others or with one, and on how many extras the operator adds.
This guide explains what the packages cover, what they leave out, and the questions worth asking before you pay a deposit. The prices below come from operator listings we read in 2026. They are not quotes, they change with fuel and season, and some listings do not show the year they were last updated, so confirm everything with the operator.

What do Gwadar tour packages include?
Listings from different Karachi operators are fairly similar. The usual inclusions are:
- Return air-conditioned transport from Karachi, often a Toyota Coaster or Hiace van
- Hotel accommodation in Gwadar, on shared occupancy
- Meals, usually breakfast and dinner at the hotel, plus lunch on the road; some list a full-board plan
- A tour manager or guide
- Tolls, taxes and basic first aid on some packages
- Group photography on some
A typical itinerary runs like this. You leave Karachi on Friday night, around 9 or 10 pm, from a meeting point such as a parking area in Karachi. You drive through the night along the Makran Coastal Highway, with a stop or two. On Saturday you visit the main sights in Gwadar: the cricket stadium, a walk up Koh-e-Batil, the beach and Marine Drive. Sunday is the drive back, usually with stops at Ormara and Kund Malir, and you reach Karachi late on Sunday night.
The longer three-day listings add beach time, a night at a camp or hut, evening entertainment such as a bonfire and a stop at the Sphinx and Princess of Hope rock formations in Hingol National Park. Those formations are covered in our posts on the Balochistan Sphinx and the Princess of Hope.
How much do they cost?
Prices seen in 2026 listings:
| Package type | Price per person |
|---|---|
| Two-day weekend, four to a room | About PKR 16,500 |
| Two-day weekend, two to a room | About PKR 19,000 |
| Three-day, two-night, shared rooms | About PKR 18,000 (about PKR 21,000 per couple) |
| Longer trip adding Ormara and Kund Malir | About PKR 25,000 |
Some budget operators list lower prices, around PKR 11,000 for three days, and some premium ones list much higher. When a price is far below the others, ask what has been dropped: usually it is the quality of the hotel, the meals or the transport.
For a family of four, that works out at about PKR 66,000 to 76,000 for a weekend trip, which is competitive with driving your own car once you count fuel and two nights in a hotel. Our Gwadar trip cost post works through that comparison.
What do packages usually leave out?
Read the exclusions line, because it is where the surprises are. Common ones:
- Personal insurance, medication and emergency evacuation
- Drinks, tea and bottled water on the road
- Laundry, phone calls and anything you buy
- Extra costs caused by weather, road closures or security delays
- Optional extras such as a jeep hire at Kund Malir or a boat ride
- Luggage assistance
Notice the clause about extra costs from natural disasters or political issues, which appears on at least one listing. In Balochistan, that is a real possibility, and it is worth asking what the operator does if the road is closed or the group is held at a checkpoint.
Questions to ask before you book
- Is the departure guaranteed? Many groups only run once enough people have booked, and listings often show a set of Friday dates over the winter.
- Which hotel, and how many people to a room? Ask for the name, and check it against our Gwadar hotels guide.
- What is the refund policy? One operator's listing offers 80% back if you cancel 15 or more days before departure, 50% at seven days or more, 25% at two days or more, and nothing inside the last day. Another says no refund within three days. Policies vary, so ask.
- How many people are in the group, and what vehicle? One listing mentions groups of ten to twenty. A full coach is a different trip from a van.
- How many hours will you drive, and where do you stop for the night? An overnight coach is tiring. Ask about rest stops and whether the driver is a second driver or the same one.
- What happens in bad weather or on a security hold? See the exclusions above.
- Do you need to carry anything? Operators ask for your CNIC and often an arrival time 30 minutes before departure.
- Who is the tour manager, and are they based in Karachi or on the coast?
Pay by a traceable method, get the booking in writing, and don't send the whole sum in advance. A 50% deposit is common.
How to compare two operators fairly
Two listings at the same price can be very different trips, so put them side by side on the same points: the number of nights in Gwadar, the hotel name, the number of people to a room, the vehicle, whether lunch and dinner are included or only breakfast, and which stops are listed. A package that spends two nights in Gwadar is a very different thing from one that spends one night in the hotel and the second on the road.
Look at the dates as well. Packages are mostly sold for the cooler months, and our Gwadar weather guide explains why that is the sensible season. A listing that still shows last winter's dates may not be running at all, so ask for the next confirmed departure before you transfer anything.
What to carry on a package trip
You spend the first night on the coach, so carry a light jacket or shawl for the air conditioning, a neck pillow, a power bank, cash in small notes, your original CNIC, any regular medicines, and sunscreen and a hat for the beach and the Koh-e-Batil walk. Keep water and snacks in your day bag rather than in the luggage hold, because stops on the highway can be far apart.
What a package does not give you
A package is a fixed schedule. You will see the main sights in Gwadar in one day, with limited time at each, and you cannot linger at the beach or stay for the sunset without the group moving on. The drive is the longest part of the trip: Karachi to Gwadar is around 650 to 700 km each way, and a weekend departure means most of the time is on the road. For a slower trip, see our Gwadar itinerary and the Makran Coastal Highway itinerary.
Package, own car or flight?
- Package. Best for solo travellers, couples and friends who want a short trip without organising it. Poorest for families who want their own pace.
- Own car. Best for families with a confident driver who want flexibility, and cheaper per person for a full car. See Karachi to Gwadar by road.
- Flight. Best if you only have a long weekend and want more time in town. See Karachi to Gwadar by flight. It costs much more.
If your interest is the north rather than the coast, our own tours are in Gilgit-Baltistan and Neelum rather than Gwadar; see our tours page.
Is a Gwadar package safe?
Gwadar is in Balochistan, and the UK government advises against all travel to the province. Pakistani families and groups still travel to Gwadar, especially between autumn and spring, and the town centre, beach and old town are open to visitors, but the area is heavily guarded and has seen attacks, including one on the Gwadar Port Authority complex in March 2024. A group package does not remove the risk. It may help with checkpoints and logistics, but you should check the current news and police advice before you go and ask the operator how it handles delays and road closures. Our post on whether Gwadar is safe to visit explains the checkpoints, and the one on the Makran Coastal Highway covers the road. Overseas visitors should check their own government's advice, which may say not to go and can void travel insurance, and foreign nationals need a No Objection Certificate.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a Gwadar tour package from Karachi?
Roughly PKR 16,500 to 25,000 per person in the listings we read in 2026, depending on length and room sharing. Very cheap listings are worth questioning.
How many days is a typical Gwadar package?
Two days for the weekend version, leaving Friday night and returning Sunday night, or three days and two nights for the longer one.
What is included in a Gwadar tour package?
Usually coach transport, a shared hotel room, meals and a tour manager. Insurance, drinks and personal spending are normally extra.
Do I need a CNIC for a Gwadar tour?
Yes. Operators ask for your CNIC details when you book and you should carry the original, because there are checkpoints on the highway and in town.
Can I book a private Gwadar trip for my family?
Some operators arrange private departures, but we have only seen fixed group dates listed. Ask the operator directly, and compare the price with driving yourself.
