The best malls in Karachi for most visitors are Dolmen Mall Clifton, for its sea-side location and mix of shops and food, and LuckyOne Mall on Rashid Minhas Road, the largest in Pakistan. Ocean Mall and the Forum in Clifton, Dolmen Mall Tariq Road and Atrium Mall near Saddar fill in the rest of the list. All are air-conditioned, which matters on a hot day or in the monsoon, and all work as a family stop when the weather rules out beaches and parks.
This guide compares the main ones by location, size and what they are good for. Hours, tenants and prices change, so treat the details here as a starting point and check before you set out.

Dolmen Mall Clifton
Dolmen Mall Clifton opened in 2011 at the base of the Dolmen City complex, on the Clifton waterfront along Marine Promenade and Sea View Road. Wikipedia describes it as a three-level mall of about 600,000 sq ft with around 130 stores, including international brands and Pakistani chains. It is the first-ranked shopping place for visitors on Tripadvisor, with a 4.5 rating.
Visitor listings mention a large food court, a Carrefour-branded Hyperstar supermarket on the ground floor, and play areas for children, including Sindbad Wonderland (see our Sindbad Wonderland guide). One reviewer notes there is no cinema, so do not plan a film here. Listed hours on Tripadvisor are roughly 11 am to 11 pm on most days, with later closing on Sunday and an afternoon start on Friday. Treat that as a guide, since mall hours shift for Ramadan and holidays.
Because it is next to Clifton's other attractions, it combines easily with Zamzama, the Boat Basin food street and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park.
LuckyOne Mall
LuckyOne Mall is on Rashid Minhas Road, opposite the UBL Sports Complex. Wikipedia records it as the largest shopping mall in Pakistan, about 3.4 million sq ft across 10 floors, with over 200 stores, 1,200 parking spaces, a Carrefour hypermarket and a food court. It is owned by the Yunus Brothers Group and opened on 6 May 2017.
It also has Onederland, an indoor theme park with over 200 attractions across two levels, plus a cinema and an open-air food street according to another listing. Those entertainment extras make it the most complete rainy-day option. The catch is distance: it is in the east of the city, well away from the old centre and Clifton, so budget travel time. Tripadvisor ratings are good (4.4 out of 5), but with a smaller number of reviews than Dolmen Clifton.
Ocean Mall and the Forum
Both are in Block 9, Clifton, close to Khayaban-e-Iqbal. Ocean Mall has branded shops, a food court and a Cinepax cinema on the fourth floor of Ocean Tower, according to listings and reviews. The Forum is also in Block 9. Listed hours are about noon to 11 pm for Ocean Mall and 11 am to 10 pm for the Forum. We could not verify more detail on tenants, so check what you need before travelling.
They are the practical choice if you are staying in Clifton or Defence, want a film or a meal, and do not want to cross the city.
Dolmen Mall Tariq Road and Hyderi
Dolmen Mall Tariq Road was the group's first mall, opening in 2000, according to Wikipedia, and helped move Karachi shopping from street markets into indoor malls. Tripadvisor describes clothing shops and a food court. Dolmen Mall Hyderi opened in 2008 in North Nazimabad, with branded shops and a top-floor food area. If you are already on Tariq Road, see our Tariq Road guide.
Atrium Mall and others
Atrium Mall near Saddar is listed with shoe shops, a cinema and a food court, and is the most convenient if you are staying around Saddar. Park Towers is described as a traditional shopping stop popular with repeat visitors. Millennium Mall is a budget option, listed with kids' play areas, bowling and a cinema, though one-review ratings should be taken lightly.
Which one for what?
- Families with children: LuckyOne for the size and Onederland; Dolmen Clifton for easier access from hotels.
- A rainy day: either, but see our monsoon guide for road flooding; leave extra time to travel.
- A film: Ocean Mall, Atrium or LuckyOne; not Dolmen Clifton.
- Gifts and traditional goods: a mall is not the best place; try Zainab Market, the Empress Market or our list of Karachi souvenirs.
- Late evening: check closing times and arrange a ride-hailing pickup in advance.

Are malls worth your Karachi time?
For a short trip, a mall should be a break, not a highlight. Karachi's best experiences are the old city, the museums and food; a mall earns its place when it is too hot or wet to be outside, when children need space, or when you need an easy meal. Prices in malls are generally higher than at the bazaars, so shop there for brands and for comfort rather than value. Start planning with our experiences page.
Karachi is not on the UK government's no-go list; check our Karachi safety guide and local news for current conditions.
