The route
Day by day
Five days at gentler altitude, following one river as far up as the road goes, for travellers who want the north without the thin air.
Group sizes and accommodation names are still to be confirmed by the brand.

Day 1
Islamabad to Keran
Through Muzaffarabad and into the valley, with the Neelum on your right for most of the afternoon.

Day 2
Keran to Sharda
Slowly upriver, stopping wherever the water is worth stopping for. The old ruins at Sharda before dinner.

Day 3
Sharda to Kel and Arang Kel
Up to Kel, then the chairlift and a short climb to the meadow village of Arang Kel. Night above the valley.

Day 4
Arang Kel and back down
The meadow first thing, while it is still empty, then the long drive back down to Muzaffarabad.

Day 5
Muzaffarabad to Islamabad
Out in the morning, in Islamabad by the afternoon.
