The main water parks in Karachi are on the outskirts of the city, along the National Highway near Gharo (Sunway Lagoon and Paradise Island) and on the Super Highway (The Great Fiesta). Tickets run from about PKR 1,000 to PKR 2,000 per person, they open in the warm months, and all three welcome families, with rules on single men. When are the water parks open?
These are seasonal. Sunway Lagoon's site described the park as closed for the off-season and announced a reopening on the second day of Eid ul-Fitr in 2025, and a Fiesta listing noted a closure from 28 October 2024. In practice, expect the season to run through the hot months and to close in the cooler ones, with dates that depend on the year. Do not plan a trip for December or January without a phone call.
Typical hours are 10 am to 5 pm, with a break around 1 pm for lunch and prayers. That leaves a short day once you have driven out, so start early.
Sunway Lagoon, Gharo
Why go: it has the longest list of slides, with more than 20 listed on its website (including Aqua Loop, Cobra, Twister Racer and Flying Carpet), a wave pool, a lazy river and a children's pool.
Price: the park's website lists PKR 1,800 for adults and children from Monday to Thursday, PKR 2,000 from Friday to Sunday and on public holidays and Eid, and PKR 1,200 for students. That page was written for the 2025 season, so 2026 prices may differ.
Tip: the site bans glass bottles, sports gear such as cricket bats and footballs, and weapons. Tickets are non-refundable, so check the day is open before you pay. Its location is 6.5 km beyond Gharo on the main National Highway, in Thatta district.
Paradise Island Water Park, Gharo
Why go: it is cheaper, with 22 slides (8 for small children), a wave pool, a separate ladies' pool, a kids' pool, and a family pool.
Price: Zameen lists PKR 1,000 for adults and children, with children under 2 free. That listing is undated, so treat it as a floor.
Tip: it opens only Friday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Sundays are reserved for families. The park is about three kilometres before Gharo, roughly an hour from Karachi airport by Zameen's estimate, so weekday visits are not possible.
The Great Fiesta, Super Highway
Why go: it is the one on the Super Highway side of the city, so it is the easier choice from Gulshan, Gulistan-e-Jauhar or Bahria Town. Its website describes 55 acres, a wave pool, a lazy river, adult slides and a children's area with a mini ship.
Price: PKR 1,500 per person, free for children under one, cash only.
Tip: the park's own site says it is open on Saturdays and Sundays only and admits families only, with groups limited to a maximum of 60 per cent men. A separate 2026 listing shows daily hours, so ask which is current. Men in single-gender groups are not admitted.
Water rides inside Bahria Adventure Land

Rules and what to bring
- Cash. Some parks take cash only. Carry enough for the ticket, lunch and the drive back.
- Swimwear rules. Each park has a dress policy, and most ask for modest swimwear. Ask when you call.
- Family-only rules. Expect single men and all-male groups to be turned away at the gate.
- A change of clothes, towels, sunscreen and sandals.
- Valuables. Leave them in the car or at home, as lockers vary.
Which water park should you pick?
For the longest list of slides, choose Sunway Lagoon. For the lowest price and a quieter feel, choose Paradise Island on a Friday or Saturday. For the shortest drive from the north and east of the city, choose The Great Fiesta. If your family wants amusement rides too, and a bigger budget, go to Bahria Adventure Land, and if you only want rides in the evening at a low price, Sindbad Wonderland is cheaper.
