Karachi Zoo
Best for: all ages. Allow 1 to 1.5 hours.
Karachi Zoo in Garden East, the country's oldest and largest zoo, dating to 1899, is smaller and quicker to get around than Safari Park, which makes it a better fit for very young children or a shorter visit. Entry is inexpensive; confirm the current fee at the gate, since it changes.
It suits toddlers and primary-school-age children best. Go in the cooler part of the day, and expect it to be busiest on Sundays and around Eid.
PAF Museum

The Pakistan Air Force Museum near Karsaz has more than 50 aircraft, missiles and radar equipment, much of it outdoors on open lawns, which children who like climbing frames and big machines tend to enjoy more than an indoor gallery. The outdoor layout means little shade, so this is a better winter or early-morning visit than a midsummer midday one. Prams manage on the paved paths, though some areas are gravel.
Pakistan Maritime Museum

A short drive from the PAF Museum, the Maritime Museum lets visitors board a decommissioned submarine and a minesweeper, alongside indoor galleries on naval history. Sea View, Karachi's public beach along Clifton and DHA, is free, open at all hours, and the easiest family outing in the city: a walk on the promenade, a camel or horse ride, snacks from the beach stalls, and the sunset. Do Darya

For a family dinner with a view, Do Darya in DHA Phase 8 has a handful of established sea-facing restaurants serving barbecue and seafood, with open-air seating children generally enjoy. It works as an evening activity rather than an afternoon one, since most restaurants open from around 5:30 or 6 pm.
