The hotels in Clifton, Karachi, fall into three groups: large international-style hotels around Club Road, small guest houses and boutique stays on Clifton's residential streets, and chalet-style places toward the DHA seafront. Booking sites list the big hotels from about PKR 28,000 to 45,000 a night in 2026, and the small guest houses from roughly PKR 8,000 to 21,000, though the same hotel can show very different prices on different days and platforms.
This guide helps you choose a part of Clifton and a kind of hotel, rather than rank properties, because prices and availability move with dates and events. For the whole city, see our guide to where to stay in Karachi.

Which part of Clifton should you stay in?
Clifton is large, and where you sleep changes your trip.
Club Road and the central area. The big hotels cluster here. The Mövenpick Hotel Karachi and the Pearl-Continental both give Club Road as their address, and the Karachi Marriott is on Abdullah Haroon Road, nearby. Trip.com lists them roughly 3 km from its Clifton centre point. This suits business travellers, families wanting a pool and restaurants, and anyone arriving late.
Residential Clifton blocks. Smaller guest houses and bed-and-breakfast places sit on the quieter streets between the main roads. They are cheaper and calmer, and some include breakfast. Check air conditioning, backup power and security carefully.
Towards the beach and DHA. Chalet-style stays, such as Sea Breeze Chalet on a DHA street, are a little nearer the shore. These are mostly small properties, and facilities vary a lot.
If you want the seafront without the traffic of the city centre, ask how far the hotel is from the beach by road, not in a straight line. The sea itself is not a swimming beach for visitors; our Sea View guide explains why, and the Do Darya guide covers the waterfront restaurants.
How much do hotels in Clifton cost?
These figures are rough, drawn from booking-site listings in 2026, and are not quotes. Where a site gave dollars we converted at about PKR 278 per dollar, the average open-market rate in September 2026.
| Type | Typical listing | Approx. PKR per night |
|---|---|---|
| Large international hotel | About US$100 to 160 | PKR 28,000 to 45,000 |
| Boutique or chalet | About US$63 to 76 | PKR 17,500 to 21,000 |
| Guest house | From about US$28 | From about PKR 7,800 |
Prices differ a great deal between sources. Listings for the same Mövenpick hotel ranged from under US$25 to about US$99 a night in the results we saw, so a "from" price may be a rare low rate or an old one. Expect prices to rise around Eid, wedding season and long weekends. Taxes and service charges are often added, so check whether the quoted price includes them and whether breakfast is included.
Large hotels: what to expect
The Mövenpick Hotel Karachi, the Pearl-Continental Karachi and the Karachi Marriott are the best-known names. Booking sites list the Mövenpick as a 5-star with 407 rooms and the Pearl-Continental with 288 rooms, and the Pearl-Continental and Marriott both advertise a complimentary airport shuttle. Check that this still applies when you book.
These hotels suit visitors who want predictable standards, restaurants, pools and a front desk that can arrange taxis. They are less suited to people who want to walk to the beach, since traffic is heavy and the sea is a drive away.
Guest houses and chalets
For a lower budget, small guest houses are the usual choice. They tend to have fewer rooms, fewer facilities and more variable standards. Sea Breeze Chalet, listed with 12 air-conditioned rooms and a 24-hour front desk, shows the kind of place available. Treat the following as essentials before paying a deposit:
- Photographs and reviews from the past 12 months
- A written confirmation of the price, including breakfast and taxes
- Working air conditioning and backup power, which matter in Karachi's heat and during power cuts
- Secure parking, if you are driving
- A clear check-in and check-out time

When is the best time to book?
October to March is the pleasant season, with cooler weather and more visitors, and the best time to book ahead. May to September is hot and humid, and prices can be easier to negotiate, though the monsoon and beach restrictions limit what you can do by the sea. Our Karachi weather guide shows how the months compare.
Is Clifton a good base for visitors?
For most first-time visitors, yes. Clifton is where much of Karachi's dining, shopping and sea air is concentrated, and the large hotels are on its edge. It is less convenient for the old city, whose heritage buildings are in Saddar and Kharadar, and it can mean long drives in traffic. If your priority is the airport or an early flight, see our hotels near Karachi airport guide.
How to choose
- Family with children: choose a large hotel for the pool and food, or a serviced apartment with a kitchen.
- Couples and business travellers: a Club Road hotel for convenience, or a boutique stay for a quieter street.
- Budget: a well-reviewed guest house in a residential block, with air conditioning and backup power confirmed.
- Short stay near the airport: consider a hotel near the airport instead and visit Clifton by car for the day.
