A honeymoon trip in Pakistan costs a couple roughly PKR 50,000 to 75,000 for five simple days in the Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir, PKR 130,000 to 155,000 for five comfortable days there with a driver, and PKR 200,000 to 300,000 for a comfortable week in Hunza or Skardu, at 2026 prices. Fly north and stay at the best hotels, and a week in Hunza or Skardu passes PKR 400,000. The destination, whether you fly, and the room decide most of the cost.
Below, each of the three honeymoon favourites is priced for a couple at three levels. "Simple" means your own car, clean simple hotels and local cafés. "Comfortable" means a car with driver, or flights to Skardu, and a mid-range hotel with a view. "Luxury" means flights where they help, a car and driver, and the best rooms. All figures are rough, for the two of you together, and prices change often.

What decides a honeymoon budget?
Four things, in roughly this order:
- Where you go. Neelum is a road trip from Islamabad with no flights and low room rates. Hunza and Skardu are two days' drive each way or a weather-dependent flight, and Skardu's hotels are the dearest in the north.
- Road or air. Flying saves four days of a one-week honeymoon, but return tickets for two can cost more than the rest of a simple trip.
- The room. On a honeymoon this is where most couples want the money to go, and the range is wide: from about PKR 2,500 a night for a simple double to an average of PKR 45,000 or more for five-star rooms in Skardu.
- Who drives. A car with driver means neither of you spends the honeymoon at the wheel on mountain roads, and it roughly doubles the transport bill.
Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir: the closest and cheapest
Neelum follows the river north from Muzaffarabad through Keran and Sharda to Kel, where a chairlift and a walk of about an hour lead up to the meadow village of Arang Kel. Keran is roughly 240 km from Islamabad and Kel about 80 km further, so the drive is long but there are no flights to book and no altitude to worry about. It is at its best from May to September.

Room rates in the valley are the lowest of the three. In 2026, simple rooms were widely offered for PKR 1,500 to 3,000 a night, mid-range hotels in Keran and Sharda for about PKR 6,000 to 10,000, and the better cottages at Kel and Arang Kel for around PKR 10,000 to 15,000. For a honeymoon we would spend a little more than the cheapest, for a private bathroom with reliable hot water and a view of the river.
Neelum's best rooms cost far less than the top hotels in Hunza or Skardu, which is why the luxury column is not much higher than the comfortable one. Hunza: the best value for a week
Hunza gives you Rakaposhi, Attabad Lake, the old forts above Karimabad and the drive to Khunjerab, and its hotels are good value for what they offer. By road it needs two nights on the way, usually in Chilas or Besham; by air it needs a flight to Gilgit, which only PIA flies, and then a car for two to three hours up the valley.

The simple column assumes a double at PKR 3,000 to 5,000, a little above the cheapest guesthouses. The comfortable column uses a room with a valley view at PKR 10,000 to 15,000. The luxury column uses the best-known hotels, such as the Hunza Serena in Karimabad and the resorts beside Attabad Lake, which were listed at roughly PKR 25,000 to 35,000 a night in September 2026. Hunza is also the most flexible on dates. The blossom in April, the full summer from June to September, and the autumn colour in late October all work for a honeymoon, and the Karakoram Highway through the valley stays open in winter. Skardu: the most expensive, and the most varied
Skardu has the widest spread of any honeymoon in the north: cold-desert dunes at Katpana, the lakes at Kachura, restored palaces at Shigar and Khaplu, and the Deosai plateau in summer. It also costs the most. Its hotels are dearer than Hunza's at most levels, and Deosai needs a jeep for the day.

Skardu fares vary widely. In 2026, one-way seats from Islamabad ran from about PKR 13,000 on an early promotional fare to PKR 35,000 or more for a late summer booking, on PIA, Airblue and AirSial. Book as soon as your dates are fixed.
At the top end, Serena's two heritage hotels, Shigar Fort and Khaplu Palace, were listed from roughly USD 80 to 95 a night in 2026, and Booking.com's average for five-star and heritage rooms in Skardu was about PKR 45,000 to 50,000 in September 2026. Where to spend and where to save on a honeymoon
Worth spending on:
- The room. A private bathroom with hot water, a heater that works, and a window onto the mountains rather than the car park.
- One special night. If the budget won't stretch to the best hotel all week, book it for one or two nights in the middle of the trip.
- A driver. Neither of you driving means you both see the Karakoram Highway, and nobody is tired and tense on the way home.
- A spare day. For a landslide or a cancelled flight, so the trip doesn't end in a rush.
Easy to save on:
- Food. Local cafés in Karimabad, Skardu and Keran serve good food for a fraction of hotel restaurant prices.
- Dates. September and early October are cheaper than July and August, the roads are open, and the valleys are quieter.
- Shared jeeps. A Deosai or Fairy Meadows jeep shared with another couple halves the cost.
- Fewer places. A week in one valley is cheaper, and more restful, than a week trying to cover three.
Which one should you choose?
- Neelum if the budget is tight, if you have five days rather than a week, or if either of you would rather avoid high altitude and long flights. It is the gentlest of the three.
- Hunza for the best mix of scenery, comfort and value over a week, and the widest choice of seasons.
- Skardu if the budget allows and you want variety: desert, lakes, palaces and the plateau. Go between June and September if Deosai is part of the plan.
