Murree weather in November is dry, clear and cold: long-term averages give days of about 14.5 °C and nights of about 4 °C, and recent years have run colder, with daytime highs nearer 11 to 12 °C and nights around freezing in the second half of the month. Snow in November is unusual; plan for frost and sharp mountain light, and treat a flake of snow as a bonus.

It is the driest month of Murree's year, so this is when the views from the ridge are clearest. This guide covers how November changes from the first week to the last, what the snow odds really are, what the month means for hotels, and what to pack. For the whole year side by side, see our Murree weather by month guide.

How cold is Murree in November?

There are two useful sets of figures, and they disagree a little, so we show both.

NovemberLong-term normalsRecent Novembers
Average high14.5 °C11.6 °C
Average low4.2 °C0.8 °C
Rain32.5 mm7 to 120 mm, varying by year
Warmest on record22.3 °Cabout 18 °C
Coldest on record−3.3 °Cabout −5 °C

The first column is the NOAA climate normals for Murree's weather station, 1961 to 1990, as published on Wikipedia. The second is Open-Meteo historical data for Murree's grid point at 2,291 metres, Novembers 2015 to 2025. Open-Meteo values are modelled rather than measured at a station, so read them as a guide to the trend, not an exact reading for the Mall.

What both agree on is the shape of the month. Midday in the sun feels mild, often pleasant enough for a jumper. Once the sun drops behind the ridge, around five o'clock, the temperature falls fast, and by late evening you want a proper coat. Wind at Kashmir Point or Pindi Point makes it feel several degrees colder than the number on your phone.

Early November and late November: how different are they?

Quite different. In the Open-Meteo data for 2015 to 2025, the first half of November averaged highs of about 12 °C and lows of about 2 °C, with frost on two or three nights. The second half averaged highs of about 11 °C and lows just below freezing, with frost on about eight nights.

So a trip in the first week is an autumn trip with cold evenings. A trip in the last week is close to a winter trip, minus the snow: frost on the car in the morning, ice possible in shaded corners of the link roads, and evenings that are properly cold. Days are also shorter by the end of the month, with sunset just before five, so plan walks for late morning and early afternoon.

Does it snow in Murree in November?

Not often. Snow in Murree mostly arrives with western disturbances from late December onwards, and January is the most reliable month, as our Murree snowfall guide explains.

November snow does happen in some years. In mid-November 2022 the Express Tribune reported that Murree was likely to get the season's first snowfall, and the Open-Meteo record shows a light fall around 14 November that year. More recent winters started later: in November 2025 Murree's district administration was preparing for the snow season while there was still no snowfall in the forecast (Dawn, 23 November 2025), and after a long dry spell, snow was forecast for Murree around 21 December (Dawn).

If snow is the reason for your trip, November is the wrong month. If you would enjoy a small chance of it on top of clear, cold weather, keep an eye on the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast in the week before you go.

Is November a good time to visit Murree?

For many people it is the best month of the year, for three reasons:

  • Clear air. With the least rain of any month, haze and monsoon cloud are gone, and on a good day the snow-covered mountains of Kashmir stand out clearly from the viewpoints.
  • Dry paths. Forest walks on the ridge are firm underfoot rather than muddy.
  • Thinner crowds. Summer and the snow weekends are when Murree jams. On a November weekday the Mall is calm and parking is easier.

It suits couples, older parents who want a quiet change of air, walkers and photographers. It suits families with young children less well in the second half of the month, simply because evenings are cold and short. Anyone hoping for warm afternoons, or for snow, should choose a different month: our best time to visit Murree guide sets out the alternatives.

What are hotels like in November?

November falls between the two busy seasons, summer and snow, which generally makes it easier to find a room and to negotiate, especially midweek. We have not seen a published rate card for 2026 that we trust, so we won't give a figure. Ask the hotel for its off-season rate, and compare two or three places before paying.

Two questions matter more in November than the price:

  • How is the room heated? Some hotels use room heaters, some gas heaters. If it is gas, read our gas heater safety guide, keep the room ventilated and switch the heater off before sleeping.
  • Is there hot water through the night? Late November nights near freezing make this worth checking before you book.

Our where to stay in Murree guide covers which parts of town suit which kind of trip.

What to pack for Murree in November

  • A warm jacket that cuts the wind, worn over a fleece or sweater.
  • A hat, gloves and a scarf, especially after the middle of the month.
  • Layers you can take off at midday when the sun is out.
  • Comfortable walking shoes with grip; frost and pine needles make slopes slippery.
  • Sunglasses and sun cream: the light is strong at 2,291 metres even when it is cold.
  • A warm layer for sleeping if your hotel's heating is basic.

You don't need snow chains for a normal November trip, but if a cold spell is forecast for the last week, it does no harm to carry them.
