From Jinnah International Airport to the city you can take a counter taxi, a ride-hailing app, a hotel or pre-booked transfer, or a public bus. Saddar and Clifton are roughly 15 to 20 km from the terminal, and the drive usually takes 25 to 50 minutes depending on traffic. Fares are the part that varies most, and sources disagree widely, so this guide gives ranges and tells you how to avoid overpaying.

Taxi from the airport counters
Reservation counters for taxis are in the arrivals halls and the concourse, and open around the clock. Operators named by airport guides include White Cab, Pak Cab and Metro Radio Cab. Ask for the fare and any airport pickup surcharge at the counter before you set off.
Published fares do not agree. One travel guide lists official airport taxis at about PKR 2,500 to 3,000 to Saddar, PKR 3,000 to 3,800 to Clifton and PKR 3,500 to 4,200 to DHA. Other websites describe a metered rate starting at PKR 150 plus about PKR 32 per km, which would give figures many times lower, and the Sindh Mass Transit Authority is quoted with yet another tariff for general city taxis. We cannot say which you will be charged, so do not rely on any of them.
What you can rely on is the process: get a price at the counter or from the driver, and agree it before your bags are in the boot.
Ride-hailing apps
The apps still operating in Karachi are inDrive, Yango and Bykea. Uber left in October 2022 and Careem ended its Pakistan ride-hailing service in July 2025.
On inDrive and Yango you can see or bid for a fare before the ride. The same travel guide gives typical app prices of roughly PKR 1,000 to 2,500 to Saddar, PKR 2,200 to 3,200 to Clifton and PKR 2,500 to 3,500 to DHA, with rides usually paid in cash. Those are indicative, and prices rise at peak hours.

Public bus
Buses run along Shahrah-e-Faisal, which passes the airport link road. They are the cheapest option, but with luggage, small children or a night arrival they are hard work. Hotel or pre-booked transfer
The most expensive option and the least stressful, especially for a late arrival. Many mid-range and upper hotels will arrange a car if you message them a flight number in advance. How long will it take?
Distances look short and are deceptive. Aim to avoid the morning rush, roughly 7 to 9 am, and the evening rush, roughly 4 to 7 pm, when a 15 km ride can take much longer than the 25 to 50 minutes it takes off-peak. Have your hotel name and address written down.
Stops on the way
The airport sits on the Shahrah-e-Faisal corridor, which connects to central Saddar.
