Getting to Jiwani
Jiwani is reached by road from Gwadar along the Makran Coastal Highway, a drive of around an hour and a half. It isn't a detour you make on a whim from Karachi; most visitors combine it with a longer trip that already includes Gwadar, since Jiwani adds real distance and a full extra half-day at least. There's a small airport at Jiwani, but it doesn't run scheduled passenger services in the way Gwadar's does, so the road is the practical option.
Daran Beach and the cliffs
Daran Beach runs below the Sunset Point headland, a stretch of clear water backed by pale cliffs that catch the evening light well. It's undeveloped: no facilities, no vendors, just sand, rock and sea, which is part of the appeal if you've already seen the busier beaches around Gwadar. Take your own water and shade, and take your rubbish back out with you, since there's nothing here to manage it.
The Victoria Hut
The Victoria Hut is the site's odd little piece of history. It was built during the British colonial period after word went round that Queen Victoria might visit to watch the sunset from this spot; the visit never happened, but the hut remains, still looked after today by the Pakistan Coast Guards, who maintain a presence in the area given its position near the border. It's a modest structure rather than a grand one, and the interest is mostly in the story and the view around it rather than the building itself.

What to know before you go
Jiwani sits close to the Pakistan–Iran border and near an active Coast Guard presence, so expect checkpoints on the road in and around the town, and carry your CNIC (or passport and any required clearance, for foreign nationals) at all times. Follow instructions from security personnel about where you can and can't go, and don't photograph anything that looks like a border, port or military installation.
Is it worth the detour?
