The best hotel booking app in Pakistan depends on where you are going and how you want to pay. Global apps such as Booking.com and Agoda have the widest choice and let you pay at the property, local platforms such as Bookme and Trips.pk accept local payment methods, and in the mountains many of the best-value places are not on any app and are booked by phone. Most travellers do best using an app to compare and a phone call to confirm.

Global apps: Booking.com, Agoda and Airbnb

Booking.com lists thousands of properties in Pakistan, from budget hotels in Lahore and Islamabad to guesthouses and resorts in Murree and the northern valleys. Its strengths are the review volume, the map view and the filter for free cancellation, which is worth using in a country where road closures change plans.

Agoda covers many of the same hotels, and its rates sometimes differ from Booking.com's for the same room, so compare both. It offers pay-at-hotel options in Pakistan, and a "book now, pay later" option which, according to Agoda's own travel guidance, needs a credit card guarantee and does not accept local wallets.

Airbnb is useful for villas, apartments and larger families or groups who want a kitchen, and it has listings in Skardu and Hunza in 2026 as well as in the cities. Coverage is thinner than for hotels, and listings vary in quality, so read recent reviews before booking.

The global apps' limits in Pakistan are the same. Many hotels outside the cities keep their own calendars, so the app's availability can be out of date, and a small guesthouse may confirm your booking by WhatsApp rather than through the app.

Local apps: Bookme and Trips.pk

Bookme is a Pakistani platform with hotels in the big cities and the main northern destinations, including Skardu, Hunza, Naran and Kaghan, plus mobile apps for iOS and Android. Its main advantage for many people is that it accepts local payment methods such as JazzCash and Easypaisa and debit cards, which matters if you do not have an international credit card.

Trips.pk is another Pakistan-based company offering online hotel booking, alongside tours. It is worth a look for domestic trips, especially if you plan to book hotels and transport together.

Local platforms can be cheaper or more convenient for some hotels, but the choice is smaller than on the global apps. Check the cancellation and refund terms before you pay, because they differ from hotel to hotel, and read what the price includes: tax, breakfast and service charges are sometimes listed separately.

How payment and cancellation differ

Payment is where the apps differ most, so decide this first.

• Pay at the property. Both Booking.com and Agoda offer this for many hotels in Pakistan. It keeps your money out of the booking until you arrive, but confirm that the hotel has the reservation.
• Pay online. Convenient, but check the refund terms and the exchange rate if the price is shown in dollars.
• No credit card. Local platforms such as Bookme accept wallets and debit cards, and many hotels will take a bank transfer or a small advance directly. Keep any advance small until the hotel has confirmed the room in writing.

Whichever app you use, choose free cancellation where you can and note the deadline. In the mountains, weather closes roads and cancels flights often enough that a refundable room can save real money.

When an app is not the answer

Apps work best in cities and well-known tourist towns. In the northern valleys, three things are common:

1. Good guesthouses and small hotels are not listed, or are listed with old photographs and prices.
2. Rates on the app can be higher than the direct rate, or lower, and only a phone call tells you.
3. Availability is real-time on the hotel's side only. During Eid and the summer holidays, rooms go quickly and a phone call or WhatsApp message is the fastest check.
