Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) is about 15 km from central Lahore, and the drive into the city takes roughly 15 to 30 minutes in light traffic and can stretch beyond an hour at peak times. The practical choices are the licensed airport taxis outside arrivals, ride-hailing apps such as InDrive and Yango, a pre-booked transfer, or a city bus. There is no train or metro link to the terminal.

Airport taxis
Licensed taxis wait at the rank outside the arrivals hall at all hours. Many are not metered, so the fare is negotiated, and payment is usually in cash rupees. One fare calculator lists a starting charge of Rs 200 plus about Rs 40 per km, which would put a trip to the centre near Rs 800 on paper, but real quotes to visitors tend to be higher. A figure around Rs 2,000 is a fair rough guide for a central destination.
Agree the destination and price before you load luggage, and ask whether the toll on the exit road is included. A toll of around Rs 60 has been reported on some exit routes. Cash is safest, since ATMs at the airport may not accept every foreign card.
Ride-hailing apps
InDrive and Yango are the apps most people use at LHE, and Bykea covers motorbikes for a single traveller with light luggage. Uber and Careem no longer operate in Pakistan, according to the airport's own transport page. Apps show or let you negotiate a fare before the driver accepts, which is why they usually cost less than a taxi.
You need mobile data on arrival. If your SIM is not working yet, connect to airport Wi-Fi if available, or use the taxi rank. Confirm the in-app pickup point with the driver, as the designated pickup area is outside the arrivals hall. Pre-booked transfers and hotel pickups
Hotels and transfer companies will arrange a driver who meets you in arrivals with a fixed price. This costs more than a taxi or app, but it removes the negotiation, and it is the best choice for a late-night flight, a family with children, or your first visit. Ask your hotel for the price in writing when you book.

Buses, metro and the Orange Line
Public buses connect the airport to parts of the city, but routes are less direct and change often. Speedo bus route 30 has been reported to run between Daroghawala and the airport via GT Road and the Shalimar Link Road, but confirm it locally, because routes are revised. Buses are not practical with large bags.

- Daytime, light luggage, comfortable with apps: InDrive or Yango.

Peak hours and rain slow every option, so build in extra time for your outbound trip to the airport.
