Amusement Parks in Islamabad: Rides and Ticket Guide

Islamabad has no single big amusement park, and the amusement parks that exist are spread across a lakeside park on Murree Road, a wristband park on the Rawalpindi side, and indoor arcades inside malls and housing schemes. The cheapest day out is Lake View Park, where entry was Rs20 per person on the park's own site in 2026 and rides are paid for separately. For a full afternoon of rides in one place, Joyland in Rawalpindi or an indoor centre such as Fun City at Centaurus is more practical.

This guide lists what is actually open, what each place suits, and what prices to expect. Every figure is from 2026 and prices change, so carry more cash than you think you will need.

Lake View Park and Laila Carnival Park

Lake View Park is on the edge of Rawal Lake, off Murree Road, and it is the closest thing Islamabad has to an outdoor funfair. Entry was Rs20 for everyone aged two and over, with under-twos free, according to the park's own site in 2026. It opens daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Parking is charged separately and tickets are sold at the gate, mostly for cash.

Inside, you pay for what you use: boating, the bird aviary, go-karting, horse riding and swings are all separate. Laila Carnival Park, which sits inside the park grounds, lists a wider set of rides and is reported to open from 10 am to 11 pm. Travel listings in 2026 quote roughly Rs250 for go-karting, Rs150 for a 3D motion ride and Rs70 for bumper cars, but treat those as rough guides and check the board at the ride.

Joyland, Rawalpindi

Joyland has a Rawalpindi branch, which is the main wristband-style amusement park for people staying in Islamabad. The operator's website lists a gate ticket of Rs100 per person, and the Rawalpindi park opens daily from 3 pm to 11 pm. A wristband, which covers rides for the day, was listed at Rs1,200 on the official site, with other sources quoting Rs1,000, so expect somewhere in that range. Single ride tickets were about Rs350, with separate charges for kiddie cars and VR games.

Work out the sums before you buy. A wristband makes sense if you plan to ride most of the afternoon. For a family with young children who will only go on a few rides, individual tickets can cost less.

Go on a weekday if you can, since evenings are likely to be the busiest. Check the park's website or social media before you go, because ride availability and pricing can change.

Indoor amusement centres

Indoor centres are the answer for the hottest months and for rainy days. They run on top-up cards: you load money on a card and swipe it at each game or ride.

• Fun City, Centaurus Mall (F-8/4). On the fourth floor. It has soft play for smaller children, kiddie rides, carnival games and arcade and VR games. Hours on its site were 11 am to 11 pm on weekdays and 11 am to midnight at weekends, with shorter summer hours to 9 pm. There is a second branch at Giga Mall.
• YoYo Land, Capital Square Mall, B-17 (Multi Gardens). A large indoor theme park with around 14 rides and a wide range of games. B-17 is on the western outskirts, a long drive from the centre, so it suits families already staying out that way. Listings give afternoon to 10 pm opening, and hours differ slightly by day, so check before setting out.
• MegaZone Entertainment Hub, Park Avenue, F-9. More for older children and teenagers, with laser tag, bowling and arcade games. Listings give late opening hours, but not a firm price, so check the current rates.

For all three, budget by the card rather than by ticket. It is easy to spend more than you planned on arcade games, so agree a limit with children before you go in.

Parks with swings and small rides

Several public parks have swings, slides and small rides for younger children without charging much or anything. Which one should you choose?

• Small children, hot weather: Fun City at Centaurus. Air-conditioned, easy to reach, and the soft play area keeps the youngest busy.
• Mixed ages, lakeside setting, low cost: Lake View Park. Pay for a couple of rides and spend the rest of the time by the water.
• Teenagers and thrill rides: Joyland in Rawalpindi, where a wristband makes sense.
• Older children and groups: MegaZone for laser tag and bowling.
• Toddlers, no budget: a public park with a play area.

Almost all of these are best late in the day. Outdoor rides in the summer sun are unpleasant between noon and 4 pm, and the Lake View Park lawns and Laila Carnival rides are at their best in the cooler early evening.

Practical tips

• Bring cash. Outdoor gates and small ride operators mostly take cash. Indoor centres usually take cards or load their own.
• Check rules on height and age. Rides have height limits, and children may be turned away.
• Avoid Eid and public holidays unless you are happy to queue. Weekday afternoons are far calmer.
• Leave time to get back. Murree Road and the Expressway back into the city are slow after 6 pm.
